The New York Foundling Awarded $500,000 To Renovate I/DD Group Home
The New York Foundling, which provides social services for people with developmental disabilities, was awarded $500,000 to fund major renovations at a group home in Cypress Hills. The funding was secured by State Senator Julia Salazar.
The home serves five residents who receive on-site support to help them live independently, secure employment, and access health care and other services. The renovations include new safety and security systems, a redesigned communal kitchen and improvements to bedrooms and bathrooms, as well as a new HVAC system.
