Trinity & Six Independent Hospitals Form Aetna ACO
Aetna is joining with Trinity Health of New England (Trinity) and six independent hospitals to form a narrow (tiered) accountable care plan. Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs) are groups of doctors, hospitals, and other health care providers, who come together voluntarily to give coordinated high quality care to their Medicare patients.
Aetna Whole Health, Aetna’s ACO, will include Trinity system of 900 doctors and four hospitals. Those hospitals include St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center, St. Mary’s Hospital, Johnson Memorial Hospital, and Mount Sinai Rehabilitation Hospital.
