Trump Administration Freezes Database Of Addiction & Mental Health Treatments

The Trump Administration recently froze work on a program that seeks to help physicians and families access evidence-based treatments for addiction disorder and other behavioral health issues. The program – the National Registry of Evidence-Based programs and Practices – is operated by Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), and currently includes 451 interventions on its website.

Interventions on the website address topics such as addiction disorder, parenting, HIV prevention, and teen depression. While the website has not yet been taken down, new submissions to it are currently frozen, and the contract for running the database has been terminated . . .
