Tufts Medicine Joins BCBS Of Massachusetts Value-Based Contracts For Improving Health Equity

Tufts Medicine recently became the fifth Massachusetts health system to join the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts (BCBSMA) pay-for-equity financial payment model. The first four participating health systems were announced in December 2022: Steward Healthcare Network, Beth Israel Lahey Health, Mass General Brigham, and Boston Accountable Care Organization, Inc. (part of Boston Medical Center). The contracts link financial incentives to achieving measurable improvements in health equity.
