U.S. Preventive Services Task Force Recommends Primary Care Screening For Adults Under Age 65 For Anxiety Disorders

The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force (Task Force) recommends routine primary screening for anxiety in adults younger than 65 for anxiety disorders without signs or symptoms of anxiety. The recommendation was issued in a group of final recommendations on screening for depression and suicide risk in adults and screening for anxiety disorders in adults. This is the first time that the Task Force has recommended routine screening for anxiety in this age group. These final recommendations are only for people without recognized signs or symptoms of these conditions.
