U.S. Senators Write Letter To HHS Citing NAMI Parity Report
As a first step to addressing some concerns in Affordable Care Act (ACA) health plans, 17 United States Senators sent a letter to U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Sylvia Burwell calling for action to ensure transparency and mental health parity. The letter cites NAMI’s (National Alliance on Mental Illness) report, “A Long Road Ahead,” and notes that those who are enrolling are not given the detailed information they need to make informed decisions when buying a health plan.
This was reported by NAMI on May 11, 2015.
