Universal Health Services To Build 120-Bed Psychiatric Hospital In Milwaukee County

The Milwaukee County Behavioral Health Division (BHD) board recently approved a contract with private hospital operator Universal Health Services (UHS) to build a 120-bed psychiatric hospital in Milwaukee County, Wisconsin. The hospital—which will be built over a two year period—will take on the services that are currently being provided at the county's Mental Health Complex.

According to statements from BHD, the UHS facility will be an independent hospital, serving all consumers in the community, regardless of their ability to pay. While the location of the hospital has not been disclosed at this time, the contract states . . .
