Virginia Commonwealth University To Build $350 Million Inpatient Children’s Facility

The Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) Health System and Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU (Children’s Hospital) recently announced they are collaborating to build a new $350 million inpatient children’s facility, which will be located at Children’s Hospital. Expected to open in 2022, the new facility will be located next to the Children’s Pavilion outpatient clinic in downtown Richmond, Virginia.

Featured at the new 500,000 square-foot hospital will be some of the following:

86 inpatient beds, with the ability to expand to 120 beds or more in the future
Six observation beds
Emergency room . . .
