VitalCore Supports Opening Of New 60-Bed Behavioral Health Unit At Shawnee County Jail In Topeka

VitalCore Health Strategies now provides health care services at a new 60-bed Behavioral Health Unit opened at the Shawnee County Jail in Topeka, Kansas. The unit opened on August 24, 2026. Services are provided in partnership with the Shawnee County Department of Corrections. The new unit expands space for people awaiting trial who need treatment for mental health disorders, substance use, suicide prevention, competency restoration, and other specialized services.
