Washington State Department Of Commerce Awards $39 Million To Increase Facilities For Behavioral Health Care Statewide
The Washington State Department of Commerce recently announced it is awarding a total of $39 million in grants to 18 different health care provider organizations in the state. The grants will specifically target facilities that provide services to consumers with behavioral health issues.
It is anticipated that the grants will help to create just over 340 new behavioral health beds, aligning with state governor Jay Inslee’s five-year plan to modernize and transform Washington’s mental health care systems by transitioning from larger institutions to smaller, more community-based care.
