Wisconsin To Close Controversial Youth Prison By 2021, Under Measure Signed By Governor Scott Walker Friday
As part of legislation signed by Governor Scott Walker, Wisconsin recently announced it will be closing its Lincoln Hills School for Boys, a controversial youth prison, by 2021. More than two years ago, the facility was raided by state agents after reports of activity such as child neglect and prisoner abuse.
After the closing of the school, it is planned that the state would either build or renovate replacement facilities that would be located closer to the families of offenders.
