With $425 Million Gift, University Of Oregon To Create Ballmer Institute For Children’s Behavioral Health, New Educational & Job Opportunities

The University of Oregon received a gift of more than $425 million from Connie and Steve Ballmer, co-founders of Ballmer Group Philanthropy, and is establishing The Ballmer Institute for Children’s Behavioral Health. The Ballmer Institute, to be based in Portland, will deliver behavioral and mental health intervention and treatment programs through public-private partnerships for children and will provide workforce training. The Institute will partner with K-12 schools statewide, beginning with Portland Public Schools.
