Wounded Warriors Canada Investing $300K To Create A National PTSD Service Dog Program
Wounded Warriors Canada is investing $300,000 into a new national program that will help provide service dogs for individuals suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). The program launched on February 6, 2018.
The contribution will allow the high quality training of dogs to be placed for the use of injured first responders and veterans. It is anticipated that the program will pair at least 25 PTSD service dogs with individuals throughout 2018. Training of each dog takes about two years to complete, according to officials.
