Why Performance Matters
Every executive team that is "wading into" organizational performance optimization should keep in mind this food for thought from Albert Einstein – "Not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted." In reality, I would like to use it as a disclaimer. I agree that not all "results" and "performance" and "attributes" can be quantified. That said, health and human service organizations (whether payers, government agencies, service provider organizations, or care management organizations) cannot operate in the absence of performance metrics.
