Court Grants UBS Motion In Oregon Psychologists’ Suit

OPEN MINDS The Behavioral Health & Social Service Industry Analyst Industry News Multnomah County Circuit Court Judge Anna Brown granted the Motions for Summary Judgment brought by United Behavioral Clinics (UBC) and Physiciains Association of Clackamas County (PACC), in a lawsuit filed by the Oregon Psychological Association (OPA), in Portland on January 23, 1990. OPA had alleged that PACC procedures, which requires HMO and indemnity plan members to submit to preadmission certification and referral by UBC and (for HMO members) to obtain treatment exclusively through UBC, violated Oregon law.
