A recent report, “Meeting Managed Mental Health Demands,” by Benjamin B. Fox and David Gottheimer, cites several reasons why hospitals are entering the managed behavioral health market - protecting market share; establishing a funding source for less restrictive treatment programs; and taking the first strategic step toward developing a full range of managed care services for employers.
