NIDA Continues Funding Research of Non-pharmacological C.D. Treatment

OPEN MINDS The Behavioral Health & Social Service Industry Analyst Industry News The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) is continuing its funding of a grant program to encourage the study of psychotherapy, behavioral therapy, drug abuse counseling, and other non-pharmacological interventions in the treatment of drug abuse. The next grant application deadline for research funding is in June of 1991. According to Dr. Lisa Onken, “The grant program is intended to study the effectiveness of psychotherapy and counseling in drug abuse treatment and to identify the characteristics of patient and practitioners that best predict outcome.” She also said . . .
