Texas To Take Over Management of MetroCare, Dallas County’s Largest Mental Health Provider

OPEN MINDS, The Behavioral Health & Social Service Industry Analyst Industry News The Texas Department of Mental Health and Mental Retardation (MHMR) will take over the management of financially troubled Dallas MetroCare Services, effective this week. The announcement was made in the Dallas Morning News on January 15, 2002. MetroCare is Dallas County's largest mental health care provider, serving about 6,000 low-income residents.
