CIGNA Acquires MCC

OPEN MINDS The Behavioral Health Industry Analyst Industry News On January 16, CIGNA Corporation of Hartford, Connecticut acquired MCC Companies, Inc., a managed mental health program provider with 1988 revenues of $30 million. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed. MCC, which was privately held, will become a wholly-owned subsidiary of CIGNA. According to G. Robert O'Brien, president of CIGNA's Employee Benefits Companies, MCC will maintain its Minneapolis headquarters and operate as a separate company.
