Charter Medical Corporation has purchased National Mentor Inc., a provider of individualized, home, and community-based health and human services. The purchase took place January 30, 1995. Boston-based National Mentor Inc. was a subsidiary of Magellan Health Services Inc. It provides specialized health services in "mentor" homes, defined as structured and professionally monitored family environments. Mentor currently has 34 branches in 13 states with 1,550 clients, and reported revenues of $49 million for the calendar year 1994. </p . . .
