According to a survey of parents in one North Carolina County, about 10 percent of all elementary school children in the county have received a diagnosis of attention deficit-hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and about 7 percent (or about 70 percent of those who have been diagnosed) are currently taking medication to treat ADHD.
