OPEN MINDS, The Behavioral Health & Social Service Industry Analyst Industry News In 2003, data from nine states participating in a traumatic brain injury (TBI) hospitalization surveillance project reported that the estimated TBI rate was 87.9 per 100,000, up from the 2002 estimate of 79 per 100,000. The states reported a total of 30,464 probable cases of TBI- related hospitalization. However the incidence varied between the states. Arizona reported the highest overall TBI rate at 105 per 100,000 which also varied by gender with 136.6 . . .
