United States Senior Population to Double in 25 Years

In 25 years, the number of people in the United States over the age of 65 will double to 72 million. The “over 85” age group is also projected to double. By 2030, nearly 20% of the population will be over the age of 65. While disability rates are declining and have dropped substantially over the past 20 years, about 80% of seniors have at least one chronic health condition; half have at least two.
