Few Employees of Small Firms Consult EAPs for Drug Problems

Of those people who called a 1-800-COCAINE line for assistance with a cocaine problem, the majority worked for small companies employing less than 500. 16% of the male callers and 25 a of the female callers reported that their employer offered an employee assistance program (EAP). Yet only 1% of these callers had ever used their EAP, according to a report of the survey results that appeared in the November, 1988 issue of Alcohol and Drug Abuse . . .
