A class action lawsuit, filed in November 1996, against nine managed behavioral health organizations, (MBHOs) including Green Spring Health Services. Merit Behavioral Care. Human Affairs International, Value Behavioral Health and others, was dismissed by U.S. District Court Judge Kimba Wood. The suit, brought by a group of mental health providers in New York, alleged that the MBHOs had engaged in nationwide price fixing activities in an effort to cut reimbursements to psychiatrists.
