OPEN MINDS The Behavioral Health & Social Service Industry Analyst Industry News Issues In Managed Health Care, a study conducted by the Census of Certified Employee Benefit Specialists that was reported in the August, 1989 issue of Employee Assistance, found that a large proportion of health plans use managed care techniques to monitor behavioral health care. Some of the findings include: 70% of respondents health plans use utilization review and/or case management for behavioral health benefits.
