Behavioral health organizations (BHO) are soon to become a part of the Joint Commission's major performance measurement initiativeORYX: The Next Evolution in Accreditation. According to an article in the August, 1998 edition of NMTP Visions, the Joint Commission, at its February meeting, established new requirements for behavioral health care organizations, including free-standing psychiatric hospitals that relate to the use of performance measurement, as part of the accreditation process.
