Making CEO Succession Work: The Grafton Case Study
It’s one thing to have a framework for chief executive officer (CEO) succession and quite another to make it work in practice. We recently sat down with Jamie Stewart, Chief Executive Officer at Grafton Integrated Health Network (Grafton), to discuss succession planning. Mr. Stewart is in year one of his five-year succession plan for helping his Board of Directors select his successor. And he was selected as CEO over eight years ago as part of a formal CEO succession plan.
