Founded in 1942 as Western State Psychiatric Hospital and renamed in 2018, UPMC Western Psychiatric Hospital provides mental health clinical care, research, and education. Its services include UPMC Western Behavioral Health, a network of nearly 60 community-based programs providing specialized mental health and addiction care throughout western Pennsylvania.
