January 1, 2009 In January 2013, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services published its twelfth legislatively required report on welfare dependence indicators. The report addresses indicators through 2009. The report includes information on health insurance, poverty, child support, and adult and child disability, in addition to traditional risk factors associated with welfare receipt (economic security measures, measures related to employment and barriers to employment, and measures of nonmarital childbearing).
