An Alternative Approach: Treating the Incompetent to Stand Trial

The topic is outcomes of a state pilot program in San Bernardino County that provided jail-based competency restoration treatment to felony defendants found incompetent to stand trial (IST). The jail-based program outcomes were compared to outcomes of state hospital treatment.
