December 2008 The Developmental Disabilities Special Investigative Committee was established by the Nebraska Legislature in response to reports from the Department of Justice and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services which documented repeated episodes of abuse and neglect of residents at the Beatrice State Developmental Center.
