January 15, 2009 In 2006, Massachusetts passed a law requiring all adults to have health insurance and 6.4% of adults were uninsured. By 2008, only 2.6% of residents lacked insurance. The state managed to make sure that nearly 97% of residents enrolled in a health insurance plan.
