The New Jersey Department of Human Services (DHS) submitted a Medicaid Comprehensive Waiver proposal to consolidate nine separate waivers into one 1115 Medicaid waiver to simplify administration and improve service delivery. A key aspect calls for DHS to implement managed behavioral health care for adults. To prepare, DHS convened a behavioral health steering group to make recommendations on the implementation and procurement process; the group has been meeting since January 2012. This presentation was given at the steering group's first meeting in January.
