Closure of CCCA: Possible Impact on Virginias Behavioral Health System of Care for Children & Families

January 2009 Virginia's Commonwealth Center for Children and Adolescents (CCCA) is slated for closure by June 2009 in Governor Tim Kaine's budget cost-cutting proposals released in mid-December 2008. The Northern Virginia chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI No-Va) critiqued the Governor's proposal because CCCA is the last publicly-funded inpatient treatment facility for children and adolescents in the commonwealth.
