CenterLight Healthcare Settlement With New York State Attorney General Over Civil Medicaid Fraud Allegations
On January 21, 2016, the New York State Attorney General announced that CenterLight Healthcare had agreed to a $47 million settlement regarding civil fraud claims that its Select Medicaid Managed Long Term Care Plan (MLTCP) fraudulently billed Medicaid for services provided to more than 1,200 Medicaid recipients who were ineligible for the program. The settlement resolves claims that CenterLight engaged in improper marketing practices to enroll 1,241 social adult day care center (SADCCs) members who did not meet the MLTCP criteria.
