Hawaii Senate Bill 2631 of 2012, Regarding Private Health Plan Coverage of Autism Diagnosis and Treatment

Hawaii SB.2631 applies to private insurance plans for dependents up to age 25. Coverage would include behavioral health treatments such as ABA, for up to $50,000 a year, as well as other medically necessary services. The Hawaii legislature is also considering similar provisions proposed by a house bill (HB.2405).
