January 2007 National Health Expenditure Data Highlights for 2005 These are findings of a health care spending report by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Office of the Actuary. In 2005, total U.S. spending for home health care increased by 11% to $47 billion. Spending on nursing homes increased by six percent to $122 billion.
