The Medicare Physician Group Practice (PGP) Demonstration evaluation report confirmed overall savings over the five-year experience with 7 out of the 10 physician group practices earning shared savings payments. The demonstration started in April 2005. The participating organizations consistently demonstrated high quality of care on a broad range of chronic disease and preventive care measures. All ten physician groups are participating in the two-year extension: The PGP Transition Demonstration, which started January 1,2011
