Worst Case Housing Needs: 2015 Report to Congress
In this report released January 30, 2015, the federal Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) presented details about the sector of the population with precarious housing. The “worst case” households are renters with very low incomes—below 50% of the Area Median Income (AMI)—who do not receive government housing assistance and who pay more than one-half of their income for rent, live in severely inadequate conditions, or both.
