FDA 501K Approval Of InTouch Health Remote Presence System, Model RP-VITA

On January 8, 2013, InTouch Health announced it had received 510(k) clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to market its RP- VITA remote presence telemedicine communications robot for active patient monitoring in high-acuity hospital environments where immediate clinical action may be required. It is the first telemedicine communications robot approved for use by physicians caring for patients in pre-operative, peri- operative and post-surgical settings, including cardiovascular, neurological, prenatal, psychological and critical care assessments, and examinations. The RP-VITA platform can be used to deliver TeleStroke and TeleICU services.
