Parent To Parent Pilot Program For Families Of Children Who Are Deaf Or Hard Of Hearing

 Maine is planning to launch a pilot parent-to-parent (P2P) peer mentoring program for families of newly diagnosed hearing impaired children; the program is currently out to bid. Slated to start on July 1, 2014, the two-year P2P pilot will provide a peer support model whereby experienced parents provide support and resources to parents of children newly diagnosed with a hearing impairment.
