Evidence-Based Treatment For Schizophrenia And Bipolar Disorder In State Medicaid Programs

In February 2012, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services published an ASPE Issue Brief covering the extent to which Medicaid beneficiaries with schizophrenia and bipolar disorder received evidence-based practices (EBPs), including medications, psychosocial services, and physical health care. The issue brief presents findings from a study in which Medicaid claims data were used to investigate the receipt of EBPs in 22 states in 2007. The study focused on adult beneficiaries with schizophrenia and bipolar disorder.
