Results From the Fall 2008 National Study of Public Attitudes Toward Addiction
Fall 2008 Researchers from the Hazelden Foundation conducted a telephone survey of 1,000 nationally representative adult respondents in order to identify attitudes toward addiction and its treatment, consumer awareness and experience with treatment, the impact of addiction on families, and the impact of addiction on the workplace. They found that while approximately 70% of Americans believe that health insurance should cover addiction treatment, almost as many Americans don't know whether or not their own insurance covers such treatment . . .
