On February 3, 2012, a federal court prevented the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare (DHW) from reducing funding for Medicaid home- and community-based services (HCBS) for 13 individuals with developmental disabilities receiving HCBS services through the Idaho Developmental Disabilities waiver. The individuals had sued the state after receiving a notice that their HCBS service budgets would be cut, some by up to 40%.
