Florida Department Of Corrections 2015-2016 Budget Highlights

On February 2, 2015, new Florida Department of Corrections (DOC) Secretary Julie Jones discussed the DOC’s budget request with the state Senate Committee on Criminal Justice. She said the DOC faced challenges related to staffing, infrastructure, and the “growing mental health care burden” in state prisons. To improve mental health care, Secretary Jones said she was working with the DOC Office of Health Services and Corizon and Wexford to expand and enhance DOC mental health capabilities.
