California Medi-Cal Direct Contract With Kaiser Permanente – 2022-23 Governor’s Budget Proposal

On February 4, 2022, the California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) published this 2022 to 2023 Governor's Budget Proposal regarding the Medica-Cal direct contract with Kaiser Permanente. Under the new contract, subject to federal approvals, Kaiser would operate as a full-risk, full-scope Medi-Cal managed care plan, consistent with other Medi-Cal managed care plans.
