D.C. CFSA LaShawn A. Six Month Plan
January 26, 2009 The District of Columbia Child and Family Services Agency (CFSA) submitted a six-month reform plan to comply with a court order in the LaShawn A. class action lawsuit to improve its child welfare services. The court monitor did not approve this plan as required by the court order. Among the provisions set forth in the District's plan: No child would stay overnight in an intake center or office building  85% of children entering foster care would have health screening  Caseloads would not exceed national standards . . .
