Alabama Senate Bill 283 of 2012, Regarding Private Health Plan Coverage of Autism Diagnosis and Treatment

Alabama Senate Bill (SB) 283 would apply to large group health insurance plans. Coverage would include behavioral health treatments such as Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) for up to $50,000 a year, as well as other medically necessary services. The senate bill would provide coverage through age 9; a house bill (HB 345) could provide coverage through age 18.
