Recidivism Among Sex Offenders in Connecticut

The report was compiled for the Connecticut legislature by the Connecticut Justice Policy and Planning Division of the Office of Policy and Management Issues. This analysis compares the five-year recidivism rates of male offenders with previous sex offense convictions, as well as convicted offenders who were originally charged as sex offenders, but ultimately convicted of other offenses. The analysts sought to provide sufficient data to enable the identification of offenders at high risk of committing new sex offenses following release from prison. The analysis reflects 14,398 male offenders released or discharged from a Connecticut prison . . .
